Keep Ryan's Sailing Dreams Alive!!!

Hello, my name is Ryan. I have been sailing for more than half my life. For me, sailing has been an amazing journey with ups and downs but in the end, it’s what I live to do. The sport of sailing for me started when I was five years old standing on a wharf looking out into the ocean when all of a sudden my eyes fell upon a small sailboat- with an even smaller sailor as its' skipper . This is probably one of the best sights I will ever have. I knew sailing was for me.
Fast forward six years to 2016, I just competed in the United States Optimist Dinghy Association Team Trials. Only the top twenty-five percent of the best U.S. sailors are invited to sail this event with many qualifying rounds and eliminations making this regatta the most prestigious Optimist event in America. Out of the best 230 sailors in the nation, I finished within the top 30 earning me a spot at the International Optimist Dinghy Association North American Championship and the U.S. National Sailing Team. Being on the United States National Team is something I have worked very hard to achieve. This means there are a lot more costs to sailing and this is where I need your help.
To complete the six National Team practices and compete at North Americans in Antigua, I will need to generate $12,500. I continue to have the love and support of my family but my sailing costs have surpassed what we are able to manage on our own. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will most certainly help me reach my goal of someday being world champion and continuing to represent my country.
Yours Truly,
Ryan
