If you know Ryan, you know he is an incredible human loved by many. He is a social butterfly with a sparkling personality and loves unconditionally. He is a wonderful husband to Jennifer Dorn Elderkin and an incredible father to his daughter Charlotte.

In the early hours of July 15th, Ryan Elderkin suffered a massive brain hemorrhage resulting in a stroke. He was rushed to UC Davis where he received two separate brain surgeries and a brain drain that remains in place. During Ryan’s first seven days in the Neuro ICU, he endured a battle with pneumonia, a lung infection, a brain infection, multiple blood clots in his right arm, and a broken left wrist from the original fall. After all of this, one thing is for sure, Ryan is a FIGHTER!!!

The stroke has left Ryan with left-sided paralysis, vision challenges, the potential need for a permanent brain shunt, and cognitive challenges.

Ryan is a fighter and has begun to make progress in his journey to recovery. However, the road ahead is not going to be an easy one for him or his family. Ryan will remain away from home for months to come. He will then enter a full-time rehabilitation and physical therapy center once he has recovered in the Neuro ICU.

Throughout his upcoming journey, Ryan's life has and will continue to change, as will his everyday needs. It’s hard to understand the full extent of his brain injury or the hurdles that will arise, but we will embrace the challenges, find a new path forward for Ryan, and create a life he will enjoy with his family and friends.

If you know the Elderkin family, you know Ryan is the center of their world. Not only is he an incredible husband and a committed father, but he is also a loving son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. We cannot wait to get our witty, fun-loving, goofy, intelligent, sports fanatic guy back home.

We are incredibly thankful that Ryan is with us today. As we face our new reality, we will be strong, ryanstrong! #RYANSTRONG

All support received will support Ryan's medical bills, rehabilitation, home care, income loss, and living/housing improvements.

His wife and daughter, Jennifer and Charlotte Elderkin, will receive all funds on behalf of Ryan Elderkin.

With Love and Hope, we thank you all!
