Tax deductible
This December, I’ll be running the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville—racing a 5K, a 10K, and a full marathon in one weekend and completing the race’s “Hat Trick Challenge” —to raise money for the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC).
Right now, across the U.S., immigrants and asylum seekers are being detained in appalling conditions, denied fair hearings and separated from their families. Mothers, fathers and children are being deported without ever speaking to a lawyer and denied due process by masked ICE officers in unmarked cars.
NIJC is one of the few organizations standing in that gap. They provide free legal representation, push back through impact litigation and help people navigate a system stacked against them.
What Your Donation Can Do Today
$100 funds a legal intake screening for an asylum seeker.
$250 pays for translation services to prepare an immigration case.
$500 helps represent someone in a bond hearing to fight detention.
$1,000 supports full legal defense for someone facing deportation.
Any amount will go towards helping, and if you donate $100 or more your name will go on my race shirt, so you’ll be coming along with me! Please donate if you can, share this campaign and help me turn 35.51 miles into something that matters.
