The Rossendale Radio New Year Dance-athon

Donation protected
Rossendale Radio has been serving the Valley community since December 2018. Shouting about the work of community groups, supporting the businesses in the area and giving a voice to all, no matter their background.

But it costs. A lot. Around £5000 a month in fact. We receive no funding other than that from our advertisers and are duty bound by Ofcom to match any advertising revenue ourselves.

So starting at 10am on New Years Eve 2024 the station will begin a 24 hour danceathon to give the Valley the grooviest start possible to 2025.

90’s Rewind presenter Paul Jenkins will be completing the full 24 hours, joined along the way by his fellow volunteer presenters trying as many dance styles as they can before the last new year bells chime in Honolulu at 10am BST on January 1st. From Rock n Roll to Funk, from Country to Pop classics - they won’t stop moving till the end of Valley Breakfast on New Years Day.

The whole event will be live streamed to Facebook, Instagram and the Rossendale Radio website so listeners can join in at home.

By sparing just a few pounds you can give the Rossendale Valley the voice it needs into 2025 and beyond.

And if you fancy joining in - come on down to the studios at Hardmans Mill in Rawtenstall - you’re more than welcome to come and throw some shapes with us on the dance floor!
