Roseann's Fight For Her Life. Please Help!

Roseann Harris Gengaro is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a fiancé, a friend but most of all she is a FIGHTER. Roe was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, a day that would forever change her life. She did it, she beat breast cancer! She was now cancer free. In 2018 her world came crashing down. She was in severe pain all down her right side. She was about to hear those dreaded words for the second time “You have cancer”! This time the cancer has spread to stage 4 stomach cancer. Roseann was given one year to live. It is now a year and half later as she continues her fight. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE, NOT IN OUR HOUSE! Cancer has knocked on the wrong door.

Since the beginning Roseann has continued to work as a school bus driver throughout treatments for her battle with cancer. She has always led a healthy and active lifestyle. Roseann has tried multiple treatments and continues to do so. Now things are becoming more difficult since she is no longer physically able to work. Her treatment options have become more & more costly. Roseann also needs money for equipment that would help relieve pain that she is enduring. Roseann NEVER gives up; she is willing to try anything. She would very much like to start Holistic treatments. Her family is looking into new treatments and programs.

Roseann has two amazing children Annmarie and Nicholas they are the light of her life, her greatest blessings. She is a firm believer when fear knocks on your door, let faith answer. We are now calling on all of her friend’s, family, co-workers and all who have known someone battling cancer to be Roseann’s faith. She is a supportive and giving person, but now she needs our support. Now it is our turn to show Roe how well she has taught us all the true meaning of support.

Roseann’s cancer is extremely aggressive and time is not on her side. We need our community, our family, our friends or as I like to say “We need our Village”, to come together to help support Roseann. Together we will help to raise funds to alleviate her expenses. Roe is family and she is in need of our help. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR A MESSAGE FROM ROE'S DAUGHTER:

Those of you who know me know my worst fear in life is the loss of a parent. As we grow older, I unfortunately more commonly hear the news of friends of mine loosing a parent. I always imagined it to be the worst pain one can ever endure while on this planet. I always gave those individuals credit, and deemed them to be some of the most powerful people on this planet.
A year and a half ago I applied to nursing school, I knew it was where I belonged in life, and I knew nursing would help me full-fill my purpose in life, to guide and assist others in some of the best and darkest days of their life.

Little did I know that when I began nursing school my mother would be diagnosed with her 2nd fight against cancer at just 48 years old (she beat breast cancer in 2014). She was diagnosed with terminal stage 3 appendiceal cancer, only ~200 people in the US battle this extremely aggressive form of cancer, and no one seems to understand why it occurs. When we received the news, we were told she had 6 months to live. This broke our hearts to pieces.
Coincidentally, cancer was the topic of discussion within nursing school at that time. There were days tears would build up in my eyes during lecture, and other times where I met with guidance counselors and deans about the possibility of withdrawing from the program to be with my mom. I didn't think I could do it. I never thought I would make it.
After coming to my senses and realizing how strong my mother is, I knew she would never let this disease consume her without a fight. I knew I had no choice but to go on with the program. I, like many of my colleagues began studying numerous hours until 2-3 in the morning to be sure I knew every bit of information possible, because one day an individual and their family would be relying on me, and I would need to be there to provide them with the best level of care that I could through hard work and dedication. I just never imagined my first experience would occur with my own mother.

My mother has defined the odds. It is now a year and a half later and she continues to push on fighting for her life. A year and a half later of 5+ chemotherapies each with little to no benefit, muscle aches, loss of appetite, weight loss, immune booster shots, lost days of work, lost days with family, and times of severe pain and nausea.
As the cancer continued to grow despite her fight against it, the tumors currently line the insides of her stomach. These large tumors cause her pain and discomfort, every. single. day. It is hard to watch.

Yet with the pain and the nausea, she STILL woke up last Monday morning and began the last and final chemotherapy medication thought to relieve her misery (per oncologist). This form of chemo is palliative, meaning that there is no chance at shrinking the tumors, only the hope that they will stop growing. But she is already in pain, she is already uncomfortable.
My family and I feel powerless in helping my mother. We want to do so much more. We want to relieve her pain. So with this, we are left to turn to holistic medicine and comfort measures.
As you may know, holistic medicine and comfort measures can be incredibly expensive. My family and I would love to purchase her a massage chair as my mother does not want to live off Percoset in order to not feel pain. We would also like to continue with the holistic doctor we are currently in contact with (who does not take insurance). We are unsure if my mom will be able to work much longer. She is the mother and ultimate warrior to both myself and my 18 year old brother, Nicholas.

As we all face the challenges created by Coronavirus-19 I am aware money is tight and we are all struggling in our own ways.
However, if you could please donate anything at all my family and I would never forget the love and support that came from your heart. If you are unable, that is fine just please SHARE SHARE SHARE.

Unfortunately, many of us may have an experience with a loved one battling cancer, because of this your donation would change the lives of so many people, my mother, myself, my family, and all those who know and love her.
Let us come together for those who currently fight against this disease, those who will, and those who have yet .

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, as it has been incredibly difficult for me to write and even more difficult for me to visualize via GoFundMe. It is because of great people like you all that she will not give up.

Love always,
Annmarie Springer
