Hi everyone! We are getting close to the time when Rosalyn heads out to the Philippines to officially fulfill her requirements for the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation - governing body for Olympic Ice Hockey) and the Women's National Team for Team Pilipinas.
Rosalyn begins fulfilling her requirements March 1st, 2018. She will be residing in the Philippines for the next year and a half.
This journey started earlier last year and it has been a great honor an blessing to watch her dreams fulfilled. She has worked hard and continues to work hard, making many sacrifices in order to achieve her goal of representing our home country in the Olympics one day.
This is historical for not only her, but for ice hockey in the Philippines as well. This past year, marked the first year that the Philippines was recognized by the IIHF. Therefore, qualifying them to work towards playing in the Olympics in the years to come. Both the Men's and Women's team have shown much grit and potential. Their skill level, talent and heart have provided much success and we are very excited to be a part of the growth and history for what is in store for the future.
Last May 2017, Rosalyn was the starting goalie at the Hong Kong Hockey 5s Tournament. The Women's Team Islanders Pilipinas swept the tournament winning Gold with Rosalyn receiving the Most Valuable Player award for the tournament. Thank you to everyone who helped her with this first step. Please click to see the updates from Hong Kong.
The Women's Team is slotted to play in the upcoming Women's Challenge Cup of Asia, an IIHF sanctioned tournament, this upcoming March 2018 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Men's Team Pilipinas, recently won Gold at the 2017 SEA Games! This momentous fete has definitely put Team Pilipinas on the map as a contender and force to be reckon with for years to come.
We are asking that you please continue to support Rosalyn as she moves onto the next level of her journey. This is an opportunity that does not come often and one that should not be taken lightly. One that is a blessing. It is a huge honor to represent your home country and to be part of history, not only for the Philippines, but for Women's Hockey and the sport itself.
