Help Roos bring the sparkle back in her life✨
Life with Brain Trauma...
Imagine this:
It’s finally the weekend, the time you’ve been longing for. The sun is shining, and you're about to meet friends at your favorite café. The air is warm, and everything feels right. You picture yourself laughing, catching up, and recharging with people who make you feel alive.
But then...
You wake up to a deafening ringing in your ear, a sound that cuts through the silence like a knife. A migraine slams into your skull, the pain so sharp it feels like your head is being crushed from the inside. You drag yourself into the shower, hoping the water will soothe you, but instead, it feels like it’s pounding directly into your brain. The light? It stings your eyes like a thousand needles.
Getting dressed becomes a battle. Those strange spots in your vision cloud everything. Where did you put your keys? You tear the house apart in a frantic search, only to find them still in the door.. how did you miss that?
A ten-minute drive sounds easy, but the thought of it sends waves of dread over you. The traffic, the noise, the chaos, it feels suffocating. Yet somehow, you make it to the café. You hug your friends, your smile feels like a mask, and you collapse into a chair. Tea sounds like a good idea, but the moment you take a sip, it’s too much.
The world around you spins. Bicycles zoom by, a waiter moves in a blur, chairs scrape, spoons clashing in the mugs and that ringing, always that ringing, pierces through every noise. Your head is splitting, your body is trembling, and every instinct screams to leave.
You escape. You go home, crawl into bed, and the world goes dark. You put in your earplugs, hoping for some relief.
And it’s not even noon yet.
This is my reality every single day, and it’s more than just exhausting, it’s life-altering. I might be 30 years old, but it feels like I'm 80 years old.
Hi, I'm Roos, 31 years old, and four and a half years ago, my life changed in a single moment.
While teaching at a special education school, I joined a PE class with my students. I missed the trampoline and landed badly, injuring my head, neck, back, and ribs.
The physical pain eventually faded, but the brain trauma didn’t. Since then, I’ve struggled with daily headaches, overstimulation, memory problems, neck pain, brain fog, and even “brain snow” (a constant visual static that affects my vision).
I’ve tried everything: traditional therapies, holistic therapies, rest, adjustments to my lifestyle. Nothing has helped enough. I’ve lost my ability to work full-time, and my social life and joy have faded.
There is hope: Cognitive FX (CFX)
I recently discovered Cognitive FX, a leading treatment center in the U.S. for post-concussion syndrome.
Their therapy is different: it combines advanced brain imaging, cognitive rehabilitation, physical exercises, breathing techniques, and personal coaching. all targeted to how each person’s brain responds after injury.
Thousands of patients from around the world have reported major improvements, even after years of struggling like me. And because I’m young, my brain still has a strong capacity to heal. But I need help getting there.
Why I Need Your Help
The total cost is $30,000, which includes:
• $24,500 for the CFX therapy program
• $5,500 for travel, lodging, and related expenses
Unfortunately, none of this is covered by insurance.
I’m asking for your support, a donation, a share, or simply spreading the word to help me access this one chance at real recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to a future where I can work, enjoy life, and be myself again.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, donating, and sharing.
You're helping me take a life-changing step toward getting my sparkle back again.
With love,
Roos
