Room for More Library Expansion

Tax deductible
As our kids have told us "the library is tooooo little..."

And we agree!  We need to expand our independent, all-volunteer, community library located in rural Virginia.

With an all-volunteer staff of 22,  we provide library services to over 1600 patrons and 600 local pre-school and elementary school  children annually.

To accomodate these  groups, it is necessary for us to host  activities on days in which the library is closed to the public or during off-hours because our space is so limited.

Additionally, we are currently unable to facilitate any outside programs due to these limitations and basic library operations are hindered because we do not have space for a designated librarian work area.

Our plan is to expand our physical space with a 1700 sq. ft. addition which will provide a modern, flexible open area to meet our children's needs as well as allow space for other community groups and additional library functions.

Yes, we need more room so we can...

§ Expand our current children’s programs and begin additional programs for other age groups.

§ Bring more and larger school field trips to the library.

§ Provide a children’s craft area.

§ Provide community organizations such as study groups, scout programs, book clubs and civic organizations a place to meet and hold events.

§ Provide a safe work place for children to access the internet and work with computers.

§ Provide much needed room for library storage and work space.

And we're used to working  for it....

In September 2010, our community library was closed by the regional library system for financial reasons and our small town recognizing the necessity of maintaining a  library, formed a Library Board of 9 local citizens and charged us to re-open the library.

Just 7 months later, The William "Bill" Kibler Memorial Library was officially opened and dedicated. Our library is named for Mr. William S. Kibler, a local educator  who bequeathed his estate to our town for the purpose of establishing a  library.

The re-opening effort required hours and hours of volunteer labor and thousands of dollars in donations. The entire community came together and worked to provide the citizens of the Town of Stanley and Page County, VIrginia a local library.

To date, our community has generously supported the  Room for More expansion campaign with contributions and fundraising proceeds totaling just over $140,000.

Still, we must raise an additional $100,000  in order to fund this expansion, and we are quickly exhausting our local financial resources. We must now reach out in order to make Room For More....

Won't you help us.......
