Who I am
My name is Ronald Wigington. Chef, father and mentor. I have begun a few online meal services for the residents of Leduc and Leduc County and my biggest need I see is a better quality and locally produced Senior Meal program. I have had the honour to help two recipients already who have decided to make the move from frozen, low-quality dinners with manufactured ingredients to my new weekly delivered or picked up, FRESH NEVER FROZEN dinner plan.
Here is where I am today and how you can help as well to bring an honestly made, chef's quality meal to so many more of the 30% population in Leduc who can benefit from this locally produced meal plan.
I have been involved with speaking to a good number of seniors who use frozen, ready to eat meal plans already. Including their children who are also involved with their daily needs and the number one comment I have heard and now expect to hear from so many others is the food being provided, although looking good on paper and in the promotional photos, are bland, depressing and even in some cases, cannot be consumed
leaving one person skipping meals because they can not get a better quality product and can not afford anything better.
Currently, I have a website called Ronskitchen.ca, providing a local online "restaurant" that caters to our number one concern. Anyone who whats to eat better. This includes anyone who is in any special needs to receive a Fresh and Not Frozen, higher value and client customized meal program to bring back the enjoyment of something so important and simple as dinner time.
One month ago, I started with one client, 7 uniquely made and NEVER FROZEN entree items and helped a very satisfied client since day one. Today, one month later, I have a small number of people asking about the program, plans and would like to sign up as soon as their loved ones agree to give it a try.
What I am asking for...
My Go Fund Me of $90000 is set to cover all needed start-up costs to be a dedicated stand alone business, moving from a three-day rental kitchen with very limited space to a dedicated space that will need little modification to update storage, space, and incorporate a company ran delivery service. I am striving today to contact all my local government officials, senior living care providers and food banks to move towards becoming the preferred meal plan provider for all senior living facilities. I have begun my company, A Chef Next Door, as a committed debit free company and so having to put down even 10% towards investing in this needed service in Leduc is a difficult one. So I ask anyone who can help provide a long-lasting care service towards meal plans towards our seniors and senior providers would be grateful.
Along with the Senior Living Meal Plan program, I have been approached to help provide healthy meal plans for fitness centers, bodybuilders and the many
dayhomes that look after the large youths that are in dayhomes 5 days a week while busy parents are working almost every day.
Including with this, I am also a dedicated teacher and mentor in the culinary arts and I would enjoy creating a mentoring program for culinary students, offer cooking classes and help provide assistance to anyone who would like to cook at home better, on budget and learn new and innovative ways of keeping their kitchen involved while saving money at home.
