This week, my best friend and her three sisters experienced the sudden loss of their father, Ron. His passing came without warning, and it’s left them facing not just overwhelming grief, but the huge financial pressure of planning a funeral with no insurance, no will, and limited resources.

Ron was a retired teacher and a grandfather whose grandkids meant the world to him. In recent years, becoming a grandfather brought out the best in him — he grew in ways that truly touched those around him, especially the little ones who lit up his world.

As someone who loves this family deeply, I’ve started this fundraiser to try and ease some of the burden. These four sisters have been through so much, and right now, they just deserve a chance to grieve without the added weight of funeral costs.
