Get Roman and Peter to FIRST World Championships

My name is Roman Contreras. I am a Student-Athlete at Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and I am a member and leader of the oldest FIRST Tech Challenge team in Indiana, #535 TOBOR. I’m also the vice president of FTC on the FIRST Indiana Student Board of Directors .
Through the Student board, my job is to work with students across the state in FTC to promote STEM in more schools and throughout different communities. This includes meeting with Governor Holcomb about getting more funding for STEM into schools through FIRST, as well as meeting with Indiana state legislators for the same reason.
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is designed for students who want to compete head-to-head in an innovative STEM challenge. Teams design, build and program their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Teams develop strategies and build robots based on applicable engineering principles, preparing them for future STEM careers.
At our team's latest competition, the FTC State Championship, I was awarded the prestigious award of Dean's List Finalist. Out of the ~73 teams in Indiana, 3 students were selected to represent Indiana at the FIRST World Championships in Houston, Texas. On April 19th I, along with my teammate Peter Kearns and my father, will travel to Houston to compete for one of the 10 FTC Dean's List awards.
The money raised will go to fund travel to Houston and accommodations, as well as food and transportation while in Houston.
