Ride For Rans And Nibs
Donation protected
Beginning September 22nd, Hall of Fame hockey player Pat LaFontaine and former Navy pilot and Greenwich legend, Bob DeAngelo will begin a hundreds-mile bike ride from Maine to Long Island in support of ALS research and to encourage two friends.
Andrew Niblock is a teacher in Greenwich and Randel McCoy is an educator on Long Island. Both are dealing with the effects of ALS and leading the way in awareness and courage. Once a teacher, always a teacher!
Please consider providing some inspiration to the intrepid cyclists as they ride in support of the ALS Therapy Development Institute https://www.als.net (where both Andrew and Randel have received treatment), and all the ALS warriors who show us their courage every day.
The starting point was selected, because it is where Andrew summered as a young boy, and Long Island is where Randel continues to inspire his students at Cold Spring Harbor High School.
Thanks you for your support (please share with your friends!)
In 2016, Andrew Niblock was diagnosed with ALS. His story was featured here Nibs
In February 2018, Randel McCoy, Pat LaFontaine's son-in-law, was diagnosed with ALS. He was recently honored at the 25th Annual Lou Gehrig Sports Awards Benefit in New York
