Roger Sherman Family Support Fund
Donation protected
On the evening of Friday, November 22, Vashon lost a beloved husband, devoted father and son, and all around wonderful human being. Roger Sherman passed away at the young age of just 41, suddenly and unexpectedly at home with his family. This is a huge loss for his wife, Jaimie Sherman, their two daughters, Harmonie and Mercie, as well as all of his friends and family. Roger had a big heart and helped all those around him without hesitation. He was widely known as kind, giving, thoughtful and compassionate. From plowing snow in epic storms, to visiting friends in need, he was always helping others in any way he could. He gave both freely and openly to anyone who needed his help and helped so many islanders with difficult contracting jobs tirelessly. We want to ensure that this love is given back to his family during this difficult time.
Roger was the backbone of the family co-owned contractor business, which supported his family financially. He worked endlessly to keep his family, friends and clients all taken care of when a Roger Rescue Repair was needed. Our entire island either knows Roger or has been helped by this compassionate man, so now is the time you can help his wife Jaimie Sherman through this shocking transition.
This fund will support Roger’s family in this tragic time of need. Please help lessen the burden that Jaimie, Harmonie, and Mercie are having to deal with in the wake of his passing. The goal of this fundraiser is to cover the funeral and memorial celebration-of-life costs but, most of all, to help provide financial stability for Jaimie through the next year. We hope with all of Jaimie and Roger’s friends, family, and island support we can reach this goal. A memorial will be planned in the coming weeks and details will be shared on this page to keep his huge circle of family and friends informed.
Our financial goal is 50k, of which upwards of 20k will go towards expenses, funeral and memorial related costs. This will leave Jaimie a cushion for living expenses while she deals with the emotional and financial transitions ahead of her. We’ve seen how the island can come together in support of its own, and this feels appropriate given all Roger gave selflessly to his island friends and family. We hope this will ease the huge financial impact his death will have on his family. Thank you for supporting the Sherman Family in their time of need.
