A beloved member of our Icon Family, Rodney Streat, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18. Rodney enjoyed a 9 year tenure as Icon's Maintenance Field Technician out of Miami, FL. During this time, he put smiles on the faces of everyone he came in contact with due to his positive nature and tenacious work ethic.
Rodney always went above and beyond for Icon and our customers. When speaking with his wife Shavonah about his hobbies she chuckled and said, “Work! He loved to work. It was always important to him". When Rodney wasn't on a job site or making repairs from his garage he loved to spend time with his wife and five children; Alex 21, Jasmine 19, twins Steven and Christopher 12, and Genesis 8.
Ron King, Rodney's best friend and fellow Icon co-worker, had a very similar statement. I could hear the smile in Ron's voice as he said, "Rodney was a family man and a church going man. He loved his work and loved his scooter!"
On behalf of Icon's Executive Team, the Rodney Streat Memorial Fund has been created to help Rodney's family during this difficult time. Since Rodney gave so much of himself to Icon we felt it was important to provide an opportunity for employees to give back to him. Icon will match the amount contributed by noon on Friday, April 29.
Thank you,
Maureen Callan
