Support the Kline Family - In memory of Rodney Sr.

Rodney Kline Sr. was a dedicated, hard working husband, father and grandpa (Papa). He was selfless and caring and he always went the extra mile for the people he loved.
Rodney lost his battle with Cancer on December 9th, 2022. Rodney’s cancer journey started in 2005 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma. After extensive chemo and radiation he overcame the odds and beat cancer.
17 years later in July 2022 Rodney noticed a mass on his tongue and once again was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma- it had returned.
On Nov 17, 2022 Rodney underwent an invasive 11 hour surgery to remove the cancer, the surgery would also remove his larynx (voicebox) and tongue and reconstruct his throat using muscle and vessels from his leg. Life after surgery would mean no voice, and he would breath from a stoma (neck) rather than his mouth, nose, he would also be fed through a feeding tube for the remainder of his life and not by mouth.
The surgery was an extreme measure to help prolong his life. The risk was always very high but it was his only option for a prolonged life. Rodney was always a fighter and always eager to put in the hard work if it helped benefit his family and this was no different. The day he agreed to do the surgery was just another day of him standing strong for his family.
After surgery Rodney faced many obstacles, the biggest one, which ultimately claimed his life was getting his old radiated muscles inside his neck to adapt to the new muscles.

Rodney was a die hard Chevy guy and the car community was near and dear to his heart. In 1967 Rodney bought his first car, a 1955 Chevy 2 door sedan. His dream was to rebuild his car with his son one day, and in 2020 that same car was finally finished and was restored piece by piece for 20yrs by Rodney and his son Rodney Steven kline Jr. along with the help of a local shop that got it across the finish like so they could enjoy it. One of the proudest days of rods life was the day that car fired up after 42 years of being a non op and he and Rodney Jr got to drive it home together.

He was truly loved by his family and is survived by his wife Cindy of 38 yrs, Son Rodney Jr, Daughter Ashleigh and 3 Grandsons (Mason, Hudson, Rodney III).

We are raising funds for his Celebration of Life expenses and to help Cindy offset finances.
