My mother Robin, at just 63 years old is fighting for her life, once again, in just 3 short years. To know her, is to love her. She can lighten up any room with her words. If you have been lucky enough to feel the warmth, love, kindness, and laughter that is Robin, you have truly been blessed. In March of 2020, as the world was shutting down, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare sinonasal cancer (SNUC). After emergency surgery and life-altering chemotherapy and radiation, she defied odds and did better than expected. Years of clear scans and hope turned into tears and fear in a matter of days. Optimism got the best of all those who love and support her, and a new form of cancer has spread throughout her brain, neck, and spine. This time though, the hope has decreased as insurance continues to deny life-prolonging Proton Treatment. She needs this!!!
We would love to be able to give her all the medical care and extended life care we can so she can continue to enjoy her family and friends, especially her dog, Chase, and all of her grandchildren.
As we navigate hospital and nursing home care, we would love the support of the community. Even if it’s just sharing resources or to help with meals, gas, and other travel expenses that have been incurred and will only increase.
My parents have been married for 40 years and they truly rely on each-other. They both contribute to the home and without the two of them there together each day, things are increasingly difficult. My dad, Mike, at 69 years young, still works full-time. This has been, as expected, especially difficult for him. Not only financially, and of course emotionally, but physically too, as he is continually battling his own health concerns.
Please consider sharing, donating, and offering prayers, good vibes, and support to all of our family and friends during this challenging time and thereafter. Thank you.
