My Battle for Justice: Shattered by Corporate Bullying
I'm Robert, and for over 30 years, I built a career in the security industry based on integrity and dedication. My faith is built on the belief that Righteousness & Justice are the very foundation of God's throne, and I strive to live by these principles every day.
Yet, despite my efforts, I faced a prolonged and deeply damaging campaign of corporate bullying and discrimination at Bloomberg L.P.
My Two-Year Corporate Ordeal
Bloomberg Bullying and Racism:
After two years of continuous Racism, bullying, nepotism, public criticism, work sabotage, and exclusion, the situation became intolerable. I advised my Team Leader (TL): stop the harassment or face a report to HR. The warning was ignored. The harassment only intensified.
Esculating the Complaint to New York Management: On February 8, 2024, I escalated the matter directly to New York management, meeting with Ms. Alexis Robert. My goal was clear: resolution, not retribution. Alexis Robert assured me she would investigate and provide an update.
The Follow up Meeting request - Blindsided
Having received no update, I reached out to Alexis Robert again on February 13, 2024. A meeting was swiftly arranged for that afternoon. However, I was immediately blindsided when the Head of HR for EMEA, Ms. Lucy Mills, appeared without prior notification.
Retaliation of Bloomberg:
- Alexis Roberts immediately declared she would not deal with my complaint. Instead, I was presented with an ultimatum outlining immediate consequences:
- My projects were to be immediately reassigned to another team member.
- My travel privileges were revoked.
- As a "loyal employee", I was offered a without prejudice financial exit package contingent upon signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- If I chose to stay, I was threatened with the loss of my 2023 Annual Bonus and any scheduled pay increase.
I was given three days to decide my fate.
The Consequence of Staying: I chose to stay. The threat of a loss of pay did not materialise (my Bonus was paid in full and a pay rise was awarded), but the retaliation began immediately on the scale of a corporate war:
- The year-end evaluation was weaponised, producing documented fabrications and slander.
- I was unjustly placed on a 12-week Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
- The PIP process became a weapon for gaslighting and setup; four weeks into the program, I suffered a mental health crisis.
- Discretionary pay was used to force an early return to work while still mentally unwell.
- HR completely ignored the recommendations of the occupational health doctor which was designed to get me well again
- My Wellness Action Plan and PIP meetings were weaponised for severe, targeted, and coordinated gaslighting by Alexis Roberts and Lucy Mills.
- The PIP was secretly restarted, and I was only notified 10 days later.
- PIP tasks were set to be impossible, leading to a full and comprehensive mental breakdown.
- The Head of Department, John Brennan, turned a blind eye, consistently ignoring my email reports detailing the abuse by Alexis and Lucy Mills.
- My official Grievance complaint was weaponised against me.
- The "without prejudice" exit package was weaponised and offered again; I again declined.
- John Brennan, Alexis Roberts, and the HR department retaliated by restructuring the organisation specifically to force my redundancy.
- My Grievance appeal was weaponised.
- I was made redundant with immediate effect on November 27, 2024.
This was not just workplace stress; it was a deliberate and relentless campaign that drove me to a complete mental breakdown, a terrifying suicide attempt, and the loss of my career. After 30 years of dedication, I was left jobless, traumatised, and fighting for my dignity. I have exhausted all personal resources in this fight.
