Thank you to all who have donated to the Robert Wells Dance Fund which supports young dancers across Southern California. Scholarships are awarded to students of studios and schools where Robert learned to dance, graced stages by performing, and shared his passion with children through teaching.

From an early age it was clear that Robert Wells was dance, there was no separating the two. He was a professional dancer since the age of 10, dancing in commercials and TV shows, or wherever they would let him. Robert started taking dance lessons at 4 years old. He found his passion. When he was in 5th grade, Mom said to him "Robert, you don't have to keep taking dance if you don't want to." He replied, "Mom, why would I stop now, I love dancing."

He went on to perform with the John Muir Middle School Imaginations show choir. As a freshman at Burbank High School, he and his two best friends, Julian and Katie, made the top show choir "In Sync." In his senior year he landed the title role of their award-winning set, “Prodigal.”

Robert also helped Estee Carrizosa, who headed the dance department, to start a brand-new dance team called Unleashed. One day in class, Estee asked him "Robert, why do you like to dance?" Without hesitation, Robert replied, "Because it makes me happy."

Robert graduated from Cal State Long Beach as a Dance major, enjoying all disciplines of dance. He toured with Kybele Dance Company in Chicago, Las Vegas and locally, and performed with various companies. Robert shared his passion teaching children and teens and coaching gymnastics.

Robert passed away last year in a tragic accident, devastating family and friends alike. The family started the Robert Wells Dance Fund in his memory. 100% of the fund is being awarded as scholarships to dancers and students, passionate about the performing arts, to help them continue their dreams.
