Hey Guys,
My name is Rob Hines. In 2009, I solely created and wrote a song which is included in a certain viral YouTube video. This Go Fund Me is to defend my copyrights in that song.
After years of being taken advantage of by the parties involved, I have finally decided to take action. I am now seeking to defend my creative copyright in court.
All I ever wanted was to be treated fairly by the parties involved. They have only seen me as a product and not a person. They have misused my image and broken their contractual relationship with me by not paying me the full amount of what I am owed. They have tried to silence me by trying to stop me from speaking about their bad acts. I portrayed this character for them thinking I would be paid in full for my work and not taken advantage of. I was wrong.
As the current WGA strike has taught us, we the creators need to defend our creativity and fight when our creative work is misused and stolen from us. My purpose in taking this to court is to show others how to make sure that they are not as unfairly treated as I was and to learn how to protect themselves from being manipulated and exploited when it comes to their creative works. Please learn from my mistakes and protect yourselves.
IN PROTECTION OF CREATION AND LOVE,
ROB HINES
