Hello, please allow me to introduce you to my daughter, Risa. I’m so proud of her. The way she has stayed positive amazes me. I’m heartbroken to see what she has been going through.

Risa has had 5 amputations this year. When this started in April, she was to have a below-the-knee amputation on her right leg. Unfortunately, on her road to recovery, she has encountered several complications. Her last amputation took place in November. Risa is now a double amputee and both above the knee.

Risa’s optimism is driven by her resolve to become once again autonomous. This will include more time in rehab, prosthetics for both her legs, a lift for her house and handicapped car modifications so she can still go to dialysis 3x a week.

The cost of her medical bills is growing and will continue. They have become more than what would be considered affordable. Insurance will not cover everything.

Risa is always the first to ask anyone in need, “How can I help”. She is generous, kind, and caring. Whether you need a lasagna for an offshore trip or a coworker with too much work on their plate, Risa is the first one to lend a helping hand and assist in any way she can. That is what an amazing and big-hearted person she is.

Now I ask you to return the favor and help her in her time of need. Unfortunately, due to medical issues, Risa is still in a rehab facility. Needless to say, it has been an incredibly trying and painful time, both physically and mentally. However, Risa has not let it get her down. She is fighting like a trooper and through it all still maintained a positive outlook.

Risa is proud and the thought of her asking for help upsets her, but she is in dire need of it. So, I am asking on her behalf. If you can find it in your hearts to help Risa, that would be amazing. No amount is too small and would be so greatly appreciated, there aren’t enough words to say thank you.
