RIP Andrew 1st Dec 2024. Thankyou everyone.

Hi my name is Andrew Merrick and im 36 years old, unfortunately I have no choice but to ask for urgent help for my last chance of leukemia treatment that is not funded on NHS, Ive had to much chemo already and im out of options.

I was diagnosed with leukemia AML on 4th April 2021, I had two rounds of chemo up to August 2022, when I had a stem cell transplant, but unfortunately in Sept 2023 my leukemia was back, I then had more chemo, I had further chemo in Jan 2024 but after been given the all clear in April 2024, 2 days later I was told they found leukemia cells again, I was about to have a stem cell top up which cant happen. Leukemia needs to be in remission.

Today I found out they are out of options on the NHS and to say im gutted is an understatement, there is a new drug for leukemia but relaspe patients dont qualify under NHS, and I was told to crowdfund in the hopes of funding 3 cycles myself. Its £2000 per cycle approx. If this cant be done then all they do is hunt for a trial that may or may not take me or even work.

I dont like to ask people for anything but unfortunately ive not been able to work for 3 years already, family are trying there best and im grateful for anything anyone can help with, even if its just sharing this post for me. I appreciate all the support already that has been given to me, and im not given up just yet. Just praying that if I get this, then it stays away long enough to get the transplant again.
