Riley's Recovery

Riley was diagnosed with Non Diffused Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma "Thymic" in November of 2017. A softball sized tumor was found inside his thoracic cavity, and very close to his heart, making immediate surgery difficult. This type of cancer is very rare and has an extremely rapid growth rate that accounts for only 2-3% of all non-hodgkins lymphomas.
His treatment has been swift and very concentrated. He'll be undergoing 6 rounds (one round every 3 weeks) of highly intense chemotherapy that requires round the clock IV drugs for 5 full days "in-patient" at United Hospital in St Paul. Further treatments may be required along with radiation to completely eliminate the tumor. This will be discussed and planned accordingly after reviewing the PET Scan results, post cycle 6 chemotherapy treatment.
Prior to his diagnosis, Riley was a full time college student working part time to pay for his education all on his own. His hard work and dedication was beginning to pay off as he was excelling in his school work, and saving a bit of money to begin life on his own after graduation. Unfortunately, that money in its entirety has been used to pay for medical appointments and medications. Our sweet Riley has shown tremendous courage, confidence and humor during his treatment. He's been so strong, shows love and is deeply loved by his entire family.
Riley's prognosis is good, and we'd like to continue to support and encourage him by providing another fresh start for him after he's worked so hard to beat cancer!
