We are reaching out for help in getting our baby girl the treatment she needs to get well. The vets do not have a cause and are running numerous tests to try to find an answer. Earlier this morning she was sent to VA tech, where she is now in ICU and is being seen by a blood specialist. Our baby has been in heat for the last two weeks however Sunday am we woke up to Riley excessively bleeding. We took her into the emergency vet where they examed her. At that point they ran multiple tests to determine where the blood was coming from and they had no answer. They thought the best sollution was to take out her uterus. Following surgery she seemed to be doing better, was bleeding less and seemed to be coming around. However 24 hours post surgery we took her home and before she was able to walk in the door, she started bleeding excessively again. Her blood count was at 30 and has continued to drop since. The emergency vet no longer feels comfortable dealing with her and suggested we take her to a specialist at VA tech. She is currently there and is proceeding to get the help she needs to get better. We hope to find an solution soon but would really appreciate the help from everyone around us.
