Help Rick Recover After a Sudden Brainstem Stroke

Dear friends, family, and supporters near and far,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my partner, Rick, whose life was turned upside down last Tuesday (May 6) after suffering a brainstem stroke while in Slovakia. The diagnosis came as a shock, but thanks to incredibly fast medical care, Rick is with us - and even more importantly, he’s okay. He has no permanent damage, but the road to full recovery will take time, energy, and resources.

For years, Rick has been a pillar of the Miami Beach nightlife, working as a General Manager of some of the top nightclubs. He was always the one making sure everyone else had the time of their lives. He was the life of the party - the guy with the big smile, always ready to help, and his energy filled every room.

Now, it’s Rick who needs us.

Rick is a U.S. citizen currently being treated in Slovakia. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover his medical care abroad beyond the urgent care, including:

His current medical bills have already reached $5,000, and that number will continue to grow as he works through rehab (one round of sessions costs $3,000, and based on his improvement, he may need two or even three). On top of that, Rick still has to cover his monthly living expenses while being unable to work for the next several weeks.
