Update February 2019
Rough month. Dad had to visit the hospital for a week due to a very serious UTI and other ailments. Cancer is still active and growing. He is home now and resting. We are very glad we brought him in, we thought at the time, he was entering the state of active dying, it was the UTI that was causing most of the pain and he was also having stress induced seizers and neck pain.
Prayers and support are appreciated.
His birthday is this Thursday Feb 7th

Faithful, Strong, Loving, and Kind, these are just some of the countless ways to describe our father.
In August of 2018 Rick was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bladder Cancer. This is worst stage of this Cancer, and Bladder Cancer has the tendency to spread rapidly and aggressively.
In September his bladder was removed and was scheduled to have scans done every two months to check for new tumors. The Cancer cells are still active, even with the removal of the Bladder. The first scan came back with good results (no new tumors).
But for the last few weeks in December, Dad was having pain in his abdomen area, the doctors decided to move up his next scan. Unfortunately, this scan did not have the results we were praying for.
A new tumor has formed (which is what is causing the pain) and it is Cancerous. Surgery is not an option at this time so close to his last operation. Radiation is going to begin, to help with the pain, but will not cure the Cancer.
The doctor informed us that Rick is terminal and will only be with us for maybe another year to two years.
With this being said, he will not be able to work, and we would like to make his life comfortable and help them to enjoy the time they have left without having to worry about finances, and the mounding medical bills.
We are not telling them about this page, hoping to give it as a Christmas Present in 2019 or sooner if needed.
