Support Rich Mason's Mission to Recovery

On the morning of October 15, 2020, Richard Mason was seriously injured in a horrific work-related motor vehicle accident. Rich was found unconscious after making an emergency exit from his work truck right before it went off of a bridge in Eden, New York. Emergency responders were quick to the scene and determined that Rich would need to be airlifted to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) in Buffalo, New York.

Once at ECMC he was diagnosed with multiple traumas and with traumatic brain injury (TBI). He had bleeding in his brain along with swelling. Both of his legs had been crushed from the jump, he bashed his face on a rock and suffered facial fractures and trauma. He also had some bumps, bruises, and wounds on various parts of his body. Upon arrival at ECMC, he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he was sedated and intubated by medical professionals. He was in critical condition, but he was stable.

A neurosurgeon performed surgery to help with the swelling and bleeding in his brain. Once the neurologists were confident that they had stabilized the bleeding and swelling in his brain, a team of orthopedic doctors prepared to start working on his broken feet, right ankle, left knee, and leg.

Although it will require plenty of time, he is expected to make a full recovery with the help of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

His long journey has just begun. Prayers come first. Contributions come second.
All proceeds will go to helping pay medical and recovery expenses, out of work expenses, therapy and rehabilitation costs, medical appointments, home health care, transportation costs, and general living expenses. Your support will not only help our family make sure we can afford anything that Rich needs to make a full recovery, but you will also allow Rich to focus 100% on his rehabilitation and not stress over finances. Help Rich move forward in his life so that he can once again make memories with his wife, son, and his beautiful step-daughter.

Suffering a near-fatal and life-changing accident has not managed to break Rich's spirit. His adaptability, hopefulness, and perseverance are an inspiration to those around him. Rich has always been very determined to accomplish any task that he has been presented with, including this very difficult situation that has been set before him. Everyone who knows Rich knows that he will successfully push himself through this injury, no matter how long it may take. He is determined to get himself healthy and active again and with your support, we can make this happen!
