On November 25, Jonathan Reyes was admitted to his local hospital thinking he just had something like appendicitis, but ended up with a fully blocked colon.
What initially was expected to be a few days in the hospital turned into a 26 day stay and 5 surgeries. Stage IV cancer was discovered and removed from 2 masses in the colon and abdominal cavity.
After weeks of recovery, Jonathan was thankfully discharged from the hospital just before the holidays, enabling him to be home with family and friends.
Now Jonathan's recovery and healing process continues. Post surgery recovery involves: surgery wound recovery for several weeks, two abdominal drainage sites to manage daily, an ileostomy bag required for an estimated 6-8 months, and Oncology Department planned cancer treatments. These treatments would include chemotherapy and other medications, every 2 weeks for an undetermined amount of time.
Jonathan’s wife, Jennifer, is giving him full time home care, along with visiting nurse medical care twice a week, so neither Jonathan or Jennifer will be working for the foreseeable future.
Donations received through this fundraiser will be directly used for living expenses and remaining medical expenses. Donations can be made under your name, your organization, or can be marked as an anonymous giver.
Jonathan and Jennifer have two teenage girls living at home, Madeline (17) and Kate (14). They are helping out a lot and actually help their dad do daily wound dressing changes.
Jonathan and his wife have been local youth leaders for several years. They work with youth, parents, families, and other ministries to see people blessed. They are well acquainted with giving and serving others in many ways. Now at this time, the tables have turned and they are in need. The Family and close friends of the Reyes's are now asking for help for them during this time of recovery and healing,
Jonathan and Jennifer also wanted to express their profound appreciation for all of the donations and gifts in December alone. Individuals dropped off homemade dinners, churches purchased needed equipment, local groups raised donations. All of this was a great blessing during the hardest part of the battle.

Through all of this, they are trusting in God and believing for total physical healing and provision for the family during the process.
Jonathan and Jennifer want to thank God for how He is working through the most challenging situations. They also thank each and every person who has offered prayer, encouragement, and any kind of help.
God bless and thank you for all donations.
