Hi, my name is Zenaida, and I was a colleague and friend of Rey Loquias. With great sadness, I share that Rey passed away on Tuesday, June 17, after bravely battling bile duct cancer, a rare and aggressive disease.

Earlier this year, thanks to the incredible generosity of so many of you, Rey was able to fulfill his final wish—traveling to the Philippines to reunite with his siblings. He found joy and peace in those final moments, walking by the sea and spending time in nature with his loved ones. I will always be grateful to everyone who made that possible.

Now, this GoFundMe continues with a new purpose: to support Rey’s grieving family. His wife, who became his full-time carer, and their son, who is still in university, are now facing not only the emotional weight of this loss but also the financial burden of funeral expenses and daily living costs.

Rey was a devoted husband, father, and a kind-hearted colleague who always put others before himself. If you’re able to give—even a small amount—it would mean the world to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
