Hello, my name is Lucas, and I’m reaching out for support to fund my top surgery.
I’ve been living openly as a trans guy since I was 13, and I’ve always tried to carry myself with pride, courage, and a desire to make a positive impact on the people around me. But for years, I’ve been carrying the heavy weight of chest dysphoria. It affects my confidence, my mental health, and even my ability to enjoy the hobbies I love most — like riding my motorcycle, skating, and being outdoors.
The best way I can describe it is this: imagine being stuck in shoes that are one size too small. No matter what you do, you feel the constant discomfort, and it follows you everywhere. That’s what it’s like living in a body that doesn’t feel like mine.
Top surgery isn’t just a medical procedure for me — it’s a chance at freedom, at finally feeling comfortable in my own skin. It would give me the confidence to show up in the world without fear, to enjoy life fully, and to keep building community with other trans people who deserve the same chance at joy.

An Update on My Journey
When I first started this fundraiser, I didn’t expect life to take such a sharp turn. The funds I raised helped me make an urgent move to Ohio, where I now have a roof over my head. I’m renting to own a small shed — it’s modest, but it gave me safety and stability at a time when I needed it most.
At first, I felt awful for using the money this way, because it wasn’t my original plan. But the truth is: survival matters. Without that help, I don’t know where I’d be today. And the people around me keep reminding me, my journey isn’t over yet.
Now I’m starting back at zero with this fundraiser. It’s humbling, but I haven’t lost sight of my goal. Top surgery is still the step I need to live fully, confidently, and without the constant weight of dysphoria holding me back.

Why I’m Asking for Help
I live on Social Security, and depression and dysphoria often make it difficult to work. That’s why I can’t reach this goal on my own. I’ve been spreading the word in my community with DIY QR code stickers and flyers — riding around on my skateboard and putting them up around town. The population is such much bigger then I ever thought. If everyone shared this or gave even a dollar, I wouldn’t just reach my goal — I could one day help start an organization that supports other trans people fundraising for their surgeries, too.
