Reuniting Brayan with Grandma
Donation protected
Brayan is a 12 year old boy from Honduras who entered the United States with his father in May. Brayan's father spent 20 days in jail before being deported back to Honduras. Meanwhile, Brayan was sent to a children's shelter in Maryland. Brayan's grandmother, Rosa, lives in the United States, and she is doing everything she can to reunite with her grandson.
This fund will help grandma Rosa welcome a new child into her life along with all the expenses that entails. Brayan is coming in with nothing. He will need everything from shoes to towels to school supplies. We want to make sure he has plenty of calling cards to call his dad whenever he wants to. A phone so he can call and text him. Maybe a tablet so he can watch PBS and pick up some English in a fun way. Money for Wifi. Rosa has been working overtime to gather enough money to fund the materials for Brayan's return, and to pay rent for the bigger apartment they demanded of her. If we raised enough money to ease the load for the first couple of month's of Brayan's reunion with Rosa, she could be around more and help him acclimate and talk him through what is surely a post-traumatic moment in his life. Please give what you can!
Brayan's story was shared in a July 3rd opinion piece in the New York Times, please read to learn more: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/07/03/opinion/family-separation-zero-tolerance-asylum.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage).
Thank you so much for donating and spreading the word, and for showing this administration that our communities care deeply about Brayan and the thousands of other children and families who have been suffering for months because of inhumane immigration policies.
