At the start of this year, my best friend moved to Canada. She’s not just a friend to me, she’s been my person through everything, the one who’s always been there no matter what. Since she left, the distance has been really hard. Because of the cost of travel, we’ve gone from seeing each other all the time to barely at all, and right now it looks like we’ll only get to see each other once in the next three years.

This year is especially important to me because I have my school formal coming up, a moment I’ve always imagined sharing with her by my side. It’s something we’ve talked about and looked forward to for so long, and it doesn’t feel the same knowing she won’t be there.

I’m trying to raise $2000 to help cover the cost of flying her to Sydney so she can come for a week and be there for this milestone with me. I know it’s a big ask, and I completely understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. Even sharing this page would mean so much.

Having her here would mean more to me than I can really put into words. It would turn something that feels a bit incomplete into one of the best memories of my life.
