As many of you are probably already aware, Hudson was sadly attacked by another dog on Tuesday 9th October 2018 whilst out on a walk with his new retirement owner Cathy and French Bulldog Lottie, who were also injured. Unfortunately Hudson had to undergo an operation that day following losing a chunk out of his left ear. He’s had to have many stitches to stop the bleeding and now much to Hudson’s frustration, he’s now having to wear a cone and having to visit the vets daily to have his bandages replaced.
Unfortunately prior to this incident, Cathy was unable to insure Hudson due to his existing medical condition that caused him to retire early as a working Guide Dog, which has now of course meant that this incident has left Cathy and her family with quite a hefty vet bill.
Now I know Cathy very well and I know that she is a very proud, caring woman who would happily pay these bills herself if money was no object, however the whole timing of this incident has fell upon difficult Financial Times. And this is why I wanted to create this page to ask for your help.
If anyone could spare a few pounds and contribute to Hudson’s vet bills, and help this wonderful dog back to full health, we would all be incredibly grateful. I have promised Cathy that I will pay at least 50% and I know she will pay as much as she can, however any help along the way would be amazing.
So far Hudson’s bills have amounted to £545 with this expected to reach in excess of £800 with his Daily bandage replacements costing £40 a time. However this figure could still increase as he may still need further surgery.
If any funds are left over following the end of his treatment, the remaining funds will be donated to the charity Guide Dogs.
Thank you all so much for your support. You can read updates over on Facebook at www.facebook.com/GuideDogHudson
