Working to help the suvivors of Hurricane Melissa storm move beyond the destruction and secure solar powering.
Jamaica government informed many elderly residents that their electricity may not be restored until after 2026. The 185 mph winds from Hurricane Melissa's destroyed most power lines and leaving many elders in darkness and without refrigeration.
Elders are traveling miles to gain access to power banks to re-charge telephones and are living without power to refrigerate food. Many will be spending their Christmas with no lights.
Although there are many Hurricane Melissa relief efforts the St. Elizabeth, Manchester area only have each other (and family members) to depend on for support.
Your contribution will help with the rebuilding and the restoration of reliable lighting. Solar powering is much safer and the most cost efficient for the already struggling elders. The goal is to secure at least 4 solar generators for the senior St. Elizabeth residents. In addition, we are working to obtain solar lighting kits.
