Richwood Flood Relief Fund
Donation protected
Many of you know my family's roots began in Richwood, WV. If you're not from the are, then you've likely never heard of that town. That is until today. Richwood is in the heart of the massive flash flooding you've seen covered on national media outlets. While I was born and raised in Beckley, it seemed that we were there almost every other weekend visiting family and friends, hanging at camp splinter, swimming at Woodbine. Camping on the cranberry and taking a river bath (never felt what real cold is until you jump in there). All these things that make Richwood what it is, and what it was, washed away. But that can be only temporary with your help. It won't be easy, and there is no quick fix, but WE can make a huge difference.
Richwood is a very modest town of around 2000 people. The town is so modest, appreciative of what very little they live with in comparison to other societies. My family, my friends, their families, their friends, all have been devastated and lost all that they have. Many of these wonderful people have lost the only home they've every known, being born and raised in this once booming lumber town. Their entire lives, erased, except the memories. Let's help fix that!!
All funds will be used to help provide the necessary items that will help these wonderful people regain a sense of normalcy and a quality of living. With your help, we can provide food, water, clothing, building restoration, etc. The list is endless, because most have lost everything.
The sooner you can donate, the better. There is no quality of living in Richwood right now, so we can use the funds ASAP and get this started, and help get everyone back on their feet.
This means so much to myself and my family. Their roots are Richwood. From the Cranberry River to the scenic highway. Help us make Richwood the Gateway to the Monongahela once again. We can all play a role, no matter how big or small.
A bottle of water, a pair of shoes. There's so much we can do to help. I can't express how thankful I would be for your help, and that won't even touch on how appreciative these citizens would be, not to mention the gratitude that would expressed.
This will be an ongoing campaign, because there is so much that needs to be done. Initial donations will be pulled out and used ASAP so that we can get up and running with this. So feel free to drop by for monthly donations if you'd like.
I will be personally ensuring that these donations go to the proper supplies that are needed at the time so that we can make best use of them and help restore Richwood.
Thank you so much!! From my family and my friends to all of you, we truly appreciate anything you can do to help.
