Restore Okiva: the adventure begins

S/Y 'Okiva' - a bluewater cruising yacht that has sailed to 48 countries, around the world two times and across the pacific four times. Her name "Okiva" stems from the Cook Islands in the South Pacific Ocean and means "Blue Ocean". She has traveled many tens of thousands of miles in her lifetime and is currently residing in Santa Barbara, CA. Okiva needs an enormous amount of upgrades and repairs in order to be sea worthy for sailing around the world for a third time.

I am Captain Spencer J. MacRae, owner of Okiva, it has been my dream since a child to sail around the world, swimming in all the oceans and exploring the majesty this earth has to offer. I am 25, an American Sailing Association certified professional sailing instructor and United States Coast Guard licensed 100 ton Master Captain.
My goal is to sail around the planet, educating people in ocean awareness, sustainability, and green practices. I also plan on teaching sailing and running charters in all the amazing places I stop and visit.
Bringing people into the world of sailing has been a passion since I was a young teenager. I have been professionally certifying people since 2008 through the American Sailing Association.
With your help I can achieve my goal of sailing around the world, educating, teaching sailing, and chartering aboard the world famous Okiva.
