Elizabeth Anne — my husband’s older sister and best friend — lost her battle with ovarian cancer when she was just 18 years old. Her passing was sudden, and my husband never had the chance to say goodbye.
It was Elizabeth’s wish to be buried with her great-grandmother, Grandma Z, and that’s where she rests peacefully today. At the time, the family simply didn’t have the funds to place a marker for her, and even after all these years, there’s still nothing there to bear her name.
On Tuesday, October 7th, we said goodbye to Grandma June, who passed away at the age of 92 after living a beautiful and full life. Now, Elizabeth and Grandma June are together, watching over all of us.
We’re asking for help to finally place a marker for Elizabeth and Grandma June. After more than 20 years, my husband and his family — and Elizabeth herself — deserve a special place to bring flowers, visit, and pay their respects. Grandma June will be laid to rest beside her parents and her beloved granddaughter.
Any amount helps and is deeply appreciated. I’m already in touch with the cemetery to have the marker placed, and we’re so grateful for any support in helping make this happen.
