Medical Care, Food, Shelter for Rescued Street Dogs
Donation protected
Day after day we continue to see and find too many dogs in need of medical attention, food, shelter and simple kindness.
Help us change that for as many dogs as possible living on the streets starting w/Kosovo. Our US-based non-profit, International Friends of Animals in Developing Countries, is raising funds to run our new shelter, provide care, food, spay/neutering for all the dogs we currently have and the new ones we want to serve. Help us EDUCATE the Kosovo people on the MANY benefits of dog ownership and promote adoption.
We have over 30 dogs waiting at the shelter for a family and place to call home. These dogs are uniquely sweet, trainable, responsive and so many have beautiful markings and features. Check out our dogs at www.FriendsofStreetDogs.org.
We don't have a "dog problem", we have a DOG OPPORTUNITY!
Help us run and expand our shelter and educate the population of Kosovo, and other developing countries, on the amazing benefits of dog companionship.
To do this, we have to complete the shelter the Gerxhaliu family started with their own funds. We need approx. $8,000 per month US to pay for food, shelter/building costs, staff and medical care and to be able to continue to welcome dogs and visitors.
You can help! Join our mission to ease the suffering of neglected and abused street dogs on the tough streets of Kosovo.
We and other like-minded US and Kosovar citizens have partnered to form International Friends of Animals in Developing Countries (IFADC) in partnership with NGO, Friends of Street Dogs, to complete construction of the shelter to house, feed, provide basic medical treatment (including vaccines, deworming), spay/neuter, provide play space and feed up to 40 puppies and dogs. We need to educate the public and help change fear of dogs to appreciation.
We need to:
- Pay for heat/electric power, water
- Install grass and build out the the dog park,
- Acquire medical equipment, medicines, heart/tick/flea medications -- high monthly expense
- Buy food to feed over 30 dogs, milk for small puppies (several have been dropped at our door!)
The dogs (and we!) eagerly await the opportunity to host families that want to visit with our dogs in a beautiful park-like environment and play in the grass together, visit with potential adoptive families and create a comfortable, safe environment for the dogs while we work to find loving homes for each of them.
All contributions are welcome!
