Let's give Reptar new knees!

The most loving, sweetest, curious puppy in the world went nuts. Nuts.
He was running laps in the apartment (YOLO), and jumping on and off the bed when he suddenly stopped running and laid on the floor.
Bulldogs are tough. Really tough. He never yelped (and is still champing it out), when he tore both ACLs.
In addition to being tough, Bulldogs are prone to hip dysphasia which we recently found out he has in his right hip. Unbeknownst to us, this placed him at an increased risk to tear his knee. Once one knee is torn, the more strain he puts on the other to compensate, and thus the more at risk he is to tear the other (which is what happened).
These risks are why pet insurance companies don't cover these surgeries. It's why Reptar's quoted surgery cost is $4,200-$4,600 for the first, and then around $2,000 for the second (they stagger the surgeries).
Like so many of us can say, dogs are incredibly special creatures. Reptar's influence and companionship in my life is indescribable. His lovely mug, those hallmark teeth, the way his ears go down when I say his name, and how his nubby tail GOES NUTS when we get home--he is perfection.
I am a doctoral student, and thought this would obviously be the best time to get a beautiful bulldog puppy. Despite being my worst financial decision to date, I would do it again, and again. Reptar is worth it, and he will always be worth it -- even though he believes he's as agile and flexible as a greyhound.
The current plan is to sell my car, and we hope this can cover about half of his medical care. If you're able to, and would like to, help Reptar get to those brand new knees he now needs -- he and I both will be indebted to you forever.
He's only a year and a half--there are so many more toys to tear to pieces, and so many more dogs at the dog park that Reptar truly believes he can keep up with (Spoiler alert: he can't).
