Roxbury Roots Montessori School.
I am a passionate, loving, energetic Montessori teacher. and I have worked for the last 12 years for a very good private Montessori school. I now want to bring Montessori education to the inner city of Boston, specifically Roxbury.
My dream is to open an affordable Montessori school in Roxbury for children from birth to 6 years old that will incorporate African-centered education. It will be a high-quality program that is child-centered, nurturing and supportive to the families.
The school will educate young children and their parents with a blended of Montessori pedagogy through an African-Centered lens.
I am asking the kindness of strangers to support me in my dream of bringing the traditionally expensive private school Montessori education to my currently underserved community for "Daycare prices.
I am seeking $5,000 in seed money to help with opening costs of the Montessori in homeschool/ "Day Care". The funds will primarily be used to:
*improve the classroom spaces and get it up to code for licensing.
*purchase furniture, child-sized shelves, tables and chairs, and furnishings for rest and gross motor enrichment.
*buy African-centered educational tools, like child size African drums, shake rays, and other musical instruments. Puppets for storing telling. African material for Aprons and place mats, tables cloths, and shelf coverings.
*buy Montessori infant-toddler materials need to teach independence; child size feeding and cooking tools, dishwashing, hand washing furniture, practical life and sensorial items.
*safety and security products.
*startup marketing and advertising materials related to creating and maintaining an online presence.

I want to thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my case, This is just a start to my bigger dream of relocating the in home school to a larger home, training more teachers to work in the program and expanding the reach to 30 students. I also want to have an after school program that would help more school age students become stronger in individual subjects using the Montessori methods.
