Larger than life. That’s how we like to remember Kem. A man of surprise, excitement and promise. A man of authenticity and vigor. A man who was undeniably and unapologetically himself. An outspoken, witty, and caring soul. He loved life. He appreciated the little things. And most of all, he had a hunger for the future.
Kem was such a good friend. Not just any type of friend. But a friend that made sure you’d never forget him. With his towering physical presence, booming voice, and larger-than-life personality, his presence was always made to be appreciated. To lose a man like this before his time has been devastating to those who love and care for him. We miss his laugh, we miss his candor, we miss his presence.
As many of you know, orthopedic surgery was an integral part of Kemjika’s identity and purpose. After completing a rigorous career training path, Kem began practicing in his first role as an attending a few months ago. Although the timing of this tragedy is exceptionally inopportune, we are happy to have seen him serve his community through his passion, even if, for a short time.
Given the recency of his completed training, this site was created to financially support Kemjika and his family. Please use this platform as a medium to express your condolences, share any photos, and provide any offer of support as we prepare for his burial and memorial arrangements.
