Remembering Athena Cyan Cook
With an incredibly heavy heart, we inform everyone that Athena Cyan Cook unexpectedly passed on 7/10/21. Athena is the daughter of Joel and Valeria Cook and the little sister to Gaia Cook.
Athena was an amazing child and had done a lot in a little over 2 years: she was bilingual, loved to help around the house, and was destined to be great at sports. She could run fast, throw a ball hard, and loved to sing in the back seat to her favorite songs.
On her recent trip to Wisconsin, she got to meet her grandparents and cousins for the first time, as well as keeping her eyes open for deer, horses, and cows while driving through the countryside. She even got the chance to feed a calf with her grandpa, and simply loved “Vaca Lolas”.
She may have only been here a short time but impacted the lives and hearts of many, including the students and staff of De Colores Daycare and Woodforest Academy.
Athena lived her life as only a 2-year-old could, with wonder and curiosity. Her legacy and spirit will forever live on through her family.
Any support and prayers are greatly appreciated and will help the Cook family get through this very difficult time.
