Heather and Christopher are facing the unimaginable loss of their baby girl Malina Meliwai Pugh. Heather’s water broke prematurely at 20 weeks, resulting in a PPROM pregnancy. After weeks of strict bedrest and hospitalization, she experienced a sudden and severe sepsis infection during pregnancy, which led to the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl Malina, who was born at 23 weeks. Both she and her husband are navigating the deep grief that comes with losing a child, and the emotional toll has been immense.
Alongside their grief, Heather and her husband are now confronted with significant hospital and medical bills from the emergency care, hospitalization, and delivery. A fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, travel to be comforted with loved ones, and the temporary loss of income while Heather and her husband take the time they need to grieve. They are beyond grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have already received throughout this entire situation. Any contribution, no matter the amount, or even simply sharing the fundraiser, would mean so much and would help give them the space and support they need to mourn, heal, and be with family. Thank you for surrounding them with kindness and compassion during such a painful time.
