Remembering Rick Kulesa

Rick Kulesa is a charismatic guy with a knack for sarcasm and impressions. He loves music, movies, and theatre. Anyone who knows Rick, knows he adores U2, Oasis, The Beatles, The Monkees, the Boss, and many other musical artists. Rick is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). He loves writing, acting, and attending concerts and shows. You can spot Rick on screen as a background actor in the Sopranos, American Gangster, Safe, Glass, The Nanny Diaries and several other films. He loves to discuss history, music, movies, politics, and current events. Rick is a son, brother, uncle, and friend. He treats his nieces to movies and Broadway shows. In addition to his acting pursuits, he works as a patient care representative at Virtua Health. Rick loves to laugh and make others laugh.

Rick Kulesa suffered a major stroke on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital. He underwent an emergent mechanical thrombectomy to remove one of two blood clots in his brain. His recovery has been complicated by brain hemorrhages and aspiration pneumonia. As of October 5th, he remains minimally responsive and is on a ventilator. The medical team is working to wean him off the ventilator and sedatives to help wake him up more to get a true sense of his neurological status. Rick can squeeze your hand and move his legs when asked, which is amazing considering we do not know when Rick's stroke symptoms began. Rick's prognosis is unknown at this time, but his family is committed to giving him the best shot at recovery. The doctors have stated Rick will have challenges with speech, balance, mobility, and vision. He has a long road ahead of him.

Rick's family anticipates many expenses related to his medical care and rehabilitation. Donations will be used to pay medical bills and expenses related to Rick's stroke recovery. We appreciate any and all support. The outreach from family and friends has been wonderful and we take comfort in knowing so many people are praying for Rick.
