The Schooley’s need your help!

The state of Alaska has given us no choice but to move Angie and her mom Krisra to Phoenix, Arizona to get Angie the resources she desperately needs for her severe mental illness, Schizo-Affective Disorder.

The goal is for this move to be temporary, but permanent is an option too.

Krista will be getting a job once down there to help out with monthly expenses, but the Schooley family financially cannot afford the moving expenses to get them there.

That’s where you come in!

For those who don’t know, Angie came down with Schizo-Affective disorder in 2020 at the age of 28.

In February of 2023, Angie moved in with Shawn and Krista, and in May of 2023, Krista became Angie's legal guardian.

Since then, Shawn and Krista have done their best to help Angie by becoming her caregiver, ‘caseworker,’ and advocate.

Krista even became a peer support specialist in behavioral health to understand Alaska’s health care system, interning at Cook Inlet Counseling and starting a community-based non-profit called ‘Mental Health Alliance of the Kenai Peninsula’ to help start filling and bridging the gap for the mental health community.

The road hasn’t been easy as Angie has been in and out of the hospital, as lack of resources has caused her to stay in the revolving door of the Alaska Health Care System for the Severely Mentally Ill.
