Housing support eviction during cancer treatment

Hi Folks,

I hope you all will help with sharing or supporting via donation to rehousing my dear friend Richard Duck Chief and his two cats, Leia and Luke!

Richard is one of the most kind, most funny, artistic and wacky guys out there; we met attending ACAD or AuArts during undergrad, and many of you know him as an amazingly talented Artist.

Richard has recently been through an unimaginable ordeal with his health (currently undergoing cancer treatment) and now needs urgent rehousing. After being a tenant in his apartment for almost seven years, he was unjustly evicted, leaving him no place to call home. The landlord and building caretaker racially profiled him, falsely accusing him of aiding others in breaking into the building.

Despite his efforts to find a new place to live, a friend who had initially offered to help him suddenly fell through, leaving him with no place to go and no time to retrieve the remainder of his belongings (The landlord would not let me come back to get things). As a result, he is temporarily living in a hotel room until he can secure a new home with the aid of Siksika emergency services.

Adding to his already overwhelming challenges, my friend is presently on disability due to ongoing cancer treatment, resulting in significant stress and anxiety. Although he was engaged in physiotherapy to heal from his cancer treatments, his doctor has now advised him that he may need surgery due to residual cancer on April 6th, 2023.

As you can imagine, Richard is facing financial constraints and has no place to accommodate his two cherished fur babies. This is a difficult and stressful situation for him, and any support you can provide would be immensely appreciated.
