Vet Wife Flooded/Phoenix

Donation protected
On September 8th, Phoenix had one of the worst storms in history. It broke the 1939 record for the most rain recorded in a 24 hours period. Linda Hoaglin awoke in the middle of the storm to find 6” of water already in her kitchen. She began sweeping the water out of her kitchen around 2am and spent the next 3 hours cleaning out the water. Around 5 a.m. the back door busted open and water, mud and debris flooded the entire house. There was mud in every room. A refrigerator tipped over; her couch and coffee table started floating and pinned her against the wall in the family room.

She is a 66 year old widow. Her husband was a Vietnam vet who was exposed to Agent Orange; developed cancer; suffered from PTSD due to losing his entire platoon and the tragedy of Vietnam; and sadly died about 2 1/2 years ago.

We had to throw out 2 couches a love seat, desk, several book shelves, dressers, lamps, side tables washer, dryer and so much sentimental treasures and other items. Her house is an older Phoenix home at the base of South Mountain. She needs help to restore her home. Her block wall caved in. The shed even floated.  The home needs many repairs to become livable again.  She did not have flood insurance and her insurance company has denied the claim. Any amount will help!!! Thanks and God bless.
