Randy Hoskins Tribute Fund

Donation protected

Monday June 1, I received the call that our brother-in-law, Randy W. Hoskins Sr., 68, passed quietly at his home in Quincy IL  after an extended battle with multiple health issues.
Randy's last few months required numerous hospital stays, medical services, and assisted care in an effort to diagnose and treat him. During that time, his spouse Annette (our sister) was always there at his side to help him during this difficult time.

Randy was a caring person and genuine family member whose passing leaves an emptiness in our extended family that won't be filled.

Now comes that time where the reality of life comes into play. The considerable medical bills are already arriving in the mail as well as the ongoing costs of fuel, lodging, and meals that added up for Annette and her family during the months while Randy was being cared for.

For Annette and her family, I'm reaching out to ask for your financial help and emotional support during their time of need. Please consider a donation at any level. The equivalent of a Starbucks/Caribou a month would go a long way to easing their burden and helping them to move forward.

Know that your donations will be going to a very deserving family who will use the monies to honor Randy's memory every day.  Thanks in advance for your time and generosity.

Here's a bit more information for you:

Randy was born June 19, 1946, in St. Louis, the son of Raymond and Vivian Henderson Hoskins. He married Annette Kirley, our sister, on Dec. 10, 1983, in Quincy, and she survives.

Randy served honorably in the United States Army for seven years, from 1963 through 1970 during the Vietnam War. In 1999, he graduated from Vatterott College with an associate degree in electrical mechanics.

Randy worked as a chef for Quincy Country Club, as well as several Quincy hotels. Most recently he worked as a carpenter. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets to expand his ever growing collection of key chains.

He was a member of Faith Assembly of God, where he served as an usher. He also was active in the bus ministry. Randy also helped out in the nursery when needed to calm a restless child. Contrary to his disposition of a gentle giant, Randy had also played the role of a Roman soldier in the church's Easter passion plays.

Randy will be remembered as someone who was always available to lend a helping hand, a few dollars or even just a hug to anyone who needed it.
