My name is Randi Anrold, I am 27 years old, and 36 days ago, my life changed FOREVER. On April 28,2020, my mom came home to find me still in bed, and when she came in to check on me, she didn’t know what was wrong with me, but immediately realized she had to call an ambulance and get me to the hospital. I had a major brain bleed. My mom was not allowed in the hospital for 21 days, and within those 21 days I had multiple surgeries and procedures including a craniotomy, tracheotomy, GI tube, Chest tubes, and I even had to fight off pneumonia two weeks after my first surgery. Every single one of these procedures I have had to endure alone. On the 22nd day, my mom was allowed to visit me for the first time in the hospital, but only for a very short time. The only reason that she was allowed to visit me was because I was being moved to a new care facility the next day in Modesto. My mom lives 90 miles away in Fresno!
Since I have moved to the new facility, my mom has driven every single day from Fresno to Modesto to see me for the 2 hours that she was approved for visitation. The other 22 hours I lay in my bed through wake and sleep cycles with none of my family or friends around to help support me through the toughest time in my life. It is unfair, inhumane, and should be illegal to keep loved ones away when you are trying to fight for your life.
My mom wants more than anything to be able to bring me home and care for me at home so I will be surrounded and supported by loved ones and friends while I face my challenges of recovery and rehabilitation.
My mom needs financial help because she is a working single mom, unable to work right now, and our insurance will not cover all of the medical expenses required in order to bring me home. I will need full time nursing care, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, speech therapists, and much more that my insurance will not cover. Please help bring me home. #HelpMeComeHome
