Dear Family, Friends, Neighbours, & Good Samaritans I am sending out an appeal for assistance on behalf of my brother, Ralph Cooper he fighting terminal cancer. Ralph is in dire need of some financial assistance to enable him to pay bills and help with the additional expenses associated with his medical condition and what lies ahead.
5 years ago on his 50th birthday Ralph lost his wife Denyse to Melanoma. Denyse was diagnosed with Melanoma, (2 years prior) the affected area was removed but it had metastasized to lymph nodes and to her brain. Ralph was forced to take a leave from his job to care for Denyse during the final stages of her battle against this disease. Despite a courageous battle with many radiation and chemo session as well as numerous surgeries she passed on at the age of 48.
Debt had accumulated, with the many associated expenses and loss of income in the home. Ralph went back to work working 14 to 18 hour days to try to get a handle on the debt. Approximately 3 yrs later Ralph was experiencing incredible pain in his shoulder, it was treated by cortisone shots and nerve numbing medication. A year or so later, just before Christmas 2016, he was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 Cancer, the pain was caused by the tumour. In Jan 2017, he underwent radiation and chemo and agreed to an experimental drug, was unable to work, pain was kept under control for the summer and he was able to resume his hobby of chain saw carving which was therapeutic and helped keep his mind occupied and his spirits up.
As the fall of 2017 approached tumors started to grow again and pain could not be kept under control. Radiation & chemo was tried again, unfortunately his body could not tolerate the chemo, it weakened his cells. He’s had a collapsed lung 3 times now. The tumors are affecting the nervous system making the pain very hard to control and is now is progressing to affect the functionality of his hands.
Any financial assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. No gift is too small.
