From Raleigh to Laos, with so much love.

Last week, tropical storm Podul and tropical depression Kajiki slammed into the southern part of Laos causing the worst flooding in over three decades. As one of the poorest farming communities in the world, this flooding has devastated the lives of over 500,000 people, including our families. Hundreds of schools have been closed, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, and over 370,000 acres of farmland is lost.
Partnering with Wattanakorn, our family’s school in Laos, and through the connection and wisdom of Vientiane Rescue, a local emergency service, we are launching a week-long campaign to raise $22,700.00 (or 200 million Laotian Kip) to provide water, food, and medicine to the families affected by this storm.

Post Campaign:
100% of the donation will be sent to Wattanakorn in Vientiane Laos. The principles at Wattanakorn will use 100% of the fund to buy water, food, and medicine to give to Vientiane Rescue, Laos’ first emergency service. Vientiane Rescue will then travel to the south of Laos to distribute these items to families affected by the flooding. Each donation bag including water, food, and medicine costs about $10.00. If we are successful raising $22,700.00, that is an equivalent of 2270 bags to be distributed to the families. Please learn more about Vientiane Rescue at Vientianerescue.org
